Nicholas JohnLEVINEAt the age of 82, on the night of the 23rd February, Nick Levine died peacefully. He was known to many as the Headmaster at Beacon Community College - a role which gave him great satisfaction and where he worked for almost 20 years - teaching law, leading the school and touching the lives of countless young people. On retirement he was able to explore his many enthusiasms: looking after a patch of woodland; playing golf, bridge and table-tennis; reading groups, writing and dancing. Alongside all this he was a much loved husband, father and grandpa, bringing great delight to his wife Julia, their 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Nick stood as Labour Party parliamentary candidate in the 1997 election. He had a strong belief in social justice, a compassionate nature and a deep faith in the goodness of his fellow man. For ten years Nick volunteered to help run the Citizen's Advice Bureau, and he worked in the local food bank. Right up to his last days, Nick was full of life, making jokes, writing and continuing to think about how to make the world a better place.
